Remy's Treats
In honor of Patrick “Martin” Beck’s beloved dog, Remington (Remy), we bring you Remy’s Treats, a blend of all natural grass fed beef organs (liver and heart), and lean steak cuts. We add a bit of cinnamon and coriander as well, which is great for your pup’s gut and joint health.
The following is the bio of Remy, in the words of Patrick Beck…
“They say that every good man deserves one great dog in his lifetime, and we sure got ours. Our boy Remy was a beautiful and gentle English Setter, who was loved by many over his 17 years. He pointed his birds for his human friend, who was a terrible shot - the grouse and woodcock usually flew off untouched. I told Dad those birds are at greater risk of getting hit by a school bus.
Remy came to the farm most days and enjoyed sniffing around the hay bales for mice or lying down in the shade for a snooze. He greeted thousands of kids over the span of 12 seasons at the Farmers Market. His loyal friendship provided comfort during our challenging early years breaking into the farm-to-table locavore scene. We were fortunate to be able to cook for him and believe that our Slate Hill grass-fed beef, fat, organs and broth (often mixed with eggs, cheese, sweet potatoes, carrots, pasta, brown rice or chicken / duck necks) contributed to his vibrant good health long into his senior years.
Now that he's gone we want to share with you our dried non-perishable treats made in his honor from our own grass-fed beef, liver & heart (the most nutrient-dense cuts). Never any hormones or antibiotics given to our free-ranged cattle living long stress-free lives on our lush Rhode Island coastal pastures.
